In a region where the sun is a constant, nothing is better than a dip in the Atlantic Ocean to cool off.

Arrábida, in the south of Lisbon, is a place where nature and the sea blend. Shades of green and blue dominate, producing the unique landscape between the beaches and the Arrábida Mountain.

The crystalline waters that bathe these beaches are a secret for many until today, despite their recognition as being some of the best beaches in Europe. With more isolated accesses, these beaches are for lovers of nature and tranquillity.

Beaches, leisure opportunities, shops, and lifestyle are all to be found along the 'line' out to Cascais, a reinvented fishing village that is now an elegant seaside resort. Beyond the bay of Cascais is Boca do Inferno (Hell’s Mouth), a large cave that begins the Serra de Sintra cliffs and passes by the famous and busy Guincho beach, culminating at Cape Roca, the westernmost point of the European continent.

Ericeira is a paradise for the restless, thanks to its beaches and the excellent surf appreciated by an increasing number of fans, this village has been made a World Surf Reserve and the first European Surf Reserve. Windsurfers, kite surfers, and bodyboarders will feel at home here and will be able to attend some of the main sporting events on these beaches.

Lisbon boasts a wide range of restaurants to suit most tastes and budgets, from traditional Portuguese to international cuisine. It has some of the best-value eateries of any European city, along with sophisticated, more expensive Michelin-starred restaurants.

Cod fish is as popular in Lisbon as anywhere else in the country in its five hundred recipes, as well as octopus and the whole variety of seafood. Recommend your clients a visit to the Bacalhau Story Center to discover the history of this cultural relationship, as well a sitting at the Center's restaurant where they can taste different cod dishes.

When it comes to desserts, the pastry shops impress any visitor. Its variety, due to the conventual tradition, is extremely rich and a paradise for the sweet tooth. The famous pastel de Belém, or pastel de nata, can be enjoyed fresh out of the oven, accompanied by a coffee. Other desserts include the travesseiros and queijadas de Sintra, as well as the Fradinhos de Mafra.

The Lisbon wine region is one of the most interesting in the country. The vineyards are greatly influenced by the sea and winds because they are so close to the coast. It is worth highlighting the Carcavelos Wine, produced within the municipalities of Cascais and Oeiras.
