The Thai capital for more than two centuries has succeeded in preserving monuments to its traditional Oriental splendor while developing as a modern metropolis at the same time. It is still a city of temples and palaces, of golden spires and orange tiered roofs, of saffron-robed monks and serene Buddha images.
Bangkok retains its own special essence, which will allow your clients to discover something truly different while enjoying all modern conveniences.
Waterways have been the arteries of transport in Thailand for centuries. There are several piers along the river that will enable your clients to hop on and take a stroll around the historical areas of Bangkok and visit some of Thailand’s golden treasures.
On both sides of the legendary Chao Phraya River are some of Bangkok’s most magnificent attractions. Visitors can admire these wonderful landmarks, like the compound of Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, as well as churches, mosques, and royal residences, by taking cruises along the river.
Enhance your client's itinerary by exploring the articles on the right for valuable recommendations to include in their Bangkok journey.
Set in the heart of the Central Plains that extends north from Bangkok is Ayutthaya. Easily visited on a day excursion from Bangkok, either by road or, more interestingly, by the Chao Phraya River.
The glorious remnants of the 417-year-old royal capital at the Ayutthaya Historical Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, show treasures that cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
Along with Sukhothai Historical Park, Ayutthaya Historical Park is a popular option to spend some family time cycling, or riding an elephant, breathing in the fresh air while closely inspecting the structures, admiring the Thai architecture, and learning about the history of the places. Cycling around the parks is perfect for those who like to cycle alone or in small groups at a leisurely pace.
Your clients can explore the making of handicrafts and demonstrations of the manufacture of local products at the Bang Sai Royal Folk Arts and Crafts Center, founded by H.M. the Queen in Ayutthaya Province. They can also stroll through the Ayutthaya Floating Market for some souvenirs, handicrafts, shirts, silk, and of course, freshly-cooked local delicacies.
